PLANS have been approved to turn a former bookmakers into a sandwich shop.
The proposal for the vacant premises, which is part of the Ellesmere Port Labour Club building in Flatt Lane, was given the go-ahead by Cheshire West and Chester Council last week.
The planning application to change the use from a bookmakers to a cafe/sandwich shop was put forward by Mr Michael Sands.
It states that the building has been vacant for more than two years and the new premises will "improve the vitality and viability of the shopping area".
The sandwich shop will be open to customers from 8am until 8pm Monday to Friday, 8am until 9pm on Saturdays, and 9am until 8pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
