TWO more cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the Cheshire West and Chester borough, according to latest figures.
Government data shows that, as of 4.30pm on Tuesday, September 1, there have now been a total of 2,149 Covid-19 cases confirmed in the borough since the beginning of the pandemic, with two further cases confirmed since the previous update at 4pm on Monday.
As of Wednesday, September 2, it is now 46 days since the last reported Covid-19 death at the Countess of Chester Hospital Trust, where a total of 227 coronavirus patients died.
The Cheshire hospital death toll stands at 725.
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has recorded 213 deaths, the last on July 11; East Cheshire NHS Trust 146 (last recorded July 22), and Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust 139 (last recorded August 24).
Across England, a further seven people who tested positive for coronavirus had died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 29,570.
Patients were aged between 71 and 90 years old. All had known underlying health conditions.
Two of the seven patients were at North West hospitals.
