A GROUP of young people and their friends from Cheshire have taken part in the Museums@Home Festival to help educate others about BSL (British Sign Language).
Members from Chester and Northwich’s Youth Vibe, which is part of Deafness Support Network, created a fun video spelling out letters from the BSL alphabet for the one-day online festival which took place on Sunday, August 23.
Created by Cheshire’s Heritage Learning Network, the virtual festival was aimed at families and included activities to entertain and engage young people who are currently in their school summer holiday period.
Virginia Kettle, from the learning team at Grosvenor Museum, Chester, said: “Recent Covid-19 restrictions have meant that family holiday activities in museums have not been possible.
"In response to this, seven North West Museums and Heritage sites - all members of the Heritage Learning Network, have got together to create a one-day online family festival called Museums@home 2020.
"We are delighted that Youth Vibes offered such an excellent film for us to include in the festival - the response was truly fantastic!”
