YEAR 11 students at Ellesmere Port Catholic High School are celebrating ‘exceptional’ GCSE results this summer.

Caroline Vile, headteacher at the school, said: “We are absolutely delighted with our GCSE results.

"It has been a challenging and unprecedented year and our students have shown real maturity and resilience throughout and as a result have been rewarded for their hard work during the three years of their GCSE studies.

"There were some spectacular individual successes and our school has also exceeded the pattern of improvement it has seen over the past few years.

"Some of our students achieved remarkable results with Jack Bowers and Joseph Hayes receiving 9 GCSEs of grades 7-9, with Joseph gaining 8 grade 9s overall.

"Our students deserve these impressive grades and we are in no doubt that they would have achieved similar results if they had been allowed to sit their GCSE exams."

Continuing on their educational journey following their GCSE success, students will now go on to fulfil their aspirations as they achieve coveted places at a range of destinations including the school's sixth form, local colleges, apprenticeships and employment.
