A YOUNG Chester singer has hit the beach for her new music video.

Former Queen's School pupil Amber Prothero, 23, will be releasing the video to her new single, 'Won't Let This Love Go', on Sunday, August 30.

Amber, who now lives near Delamere Forest, went to West Kirby beach in the Wirral for the music video, which was directed and produced by local artist Dan Sloan.

Having already performed in venues from all around the world, Amber’s most recent singles ‘Gabriella' and 'Won’t Let This Love Go' have been showcased numerous times on BBC Introducing Merseyside as well as on Jermaine Foster's show on BBC Radio Merseyside.

She also recently performed to an audience of 50,000 people for Chester's Young Storyhouse Takeover, a platform celebrating exceptional rising global talent.

As a local artist, Amber specifically chose this location as a love letter to her hometown.

She said: “I couldn’t imagine filming the video anywhere else. My hometown has shaped me as an artist and what better way to show who I am than filming this project in a place that’s always been so important to me.”

The upcoming video not only demonstrates Amber’s artistry, but it perfectly showcases West Kirby Beach’s raw and natural beauty.

Amber moved to Bristol at 18 years old to study modern languages before returning back home last year once she had finished her degree.

The young singer, who draws inspiration from soulful stars such as Ella Fitzgerald and Norah Jones, had been gigging full time in and around Chester and Liverpool before the pandemic began.
