THE headteacher of Catholic High School in Chester has congratulated students for achieving the results they deserved despite a challenging few months which meant they were unable to sit their GCSE exams.

Headteacher Cathryn McKeagney said: "We would like to congratulate all our GCSE students who must have had not only a challenging few months but a worrying few days with all the uncertainty.

"We, at The Catholic High School, have worked long and hard to ensure that the students achieved the grades which they have worked for during their time at our school.

"A vast number of our pupils have achieved excellent progress and attainment scores due to their determination over the last five years, and whilst they did not sit the exams during these last few months, so many students have worked consistently hard from their first day of school, and their results exhibit this.

"We hope to see so many of them return to our sixth form as they epitomise the values of our school and will be an asset to our Year 12, however, for those of you who are off to pastures new, we know that we have offered you the best grounding for your next steps."
