A MAN has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear or threat to life and will appear in court tomorrow (August 11).
The 24-year-old, from the Christleton area, was arrested following an incident on the play area at Francis Street, Chester, near to the train station, at about 7.40pm on Friday.
He has since been charged and will appear at Warrington Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Detectives investigating the incident on Francis Street are appealing to trace a man who spoke to officers on the night of the disturbance.
The man provided police with information but left before officers could take his details.
Detective Constable Chris Scott of Chester Local Policing Unit said: "I understand how concerning this incident will be for those living in the area and I want to reassure residents that this is believed to be an isolated incident.
"We have already spoken to a number of people in connection with the incident and as part of our ongoing enquiries I’m keen to speak to the man who gave police information at the time of the incident.
"I would ask the man, or anyone who knows who he is, to contact the team here at Chester on 101 quoting IML 774245."
