A WREXHAM man has been arrested in connection with an alleged sexual assault in Chester city centre.
Cheshire Police is investigating the incident which occurred on Delamere Street late on Friday evening.
The force says a 30-year-old man from Wrexham has been arrested in connection with the incident - which involved a North Wales woman in her 20s.
The suspect has since been released on police bail.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "At around 11pm on Friday, officers received reports that a woman had been sexually assaulted in the Delamere Street area of Chester.
"A 30-year-old man from Wrexham was arrested in connection with the incident.
"He has since been released on conditional bail.
"The victim, a woman in her 20s from the North Wales area, is receiving specialist support.
"Enquiries in relation to the case are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101, quoting IML-768585."
