A PETROL station in Cheshire was evacuated after a gas leak.
Shortly before 2pm Yesterday (Friday, July 31) firefighters responded to the call in Green Oaks Way, Widnes.
The station had been evacuated due to the leak from a petrol tank's filling valve.
Firefighters monitored the amount of gas in the area using specialist equipment.
An on-site specialist isolated the gas supply to the valve.
As they did so, firefighters stood by with foam in case a fire broke out.
Once the gas supply had been isolated and firefighters were satisfied that the petrol station was safe, they left the scene.
They were in attendance for about 45 minutes.
