A YOUNG man was seriously hurt during an assault in a bar in Cheshire during the early hours.

Police are now appealing for witnesses following the attack.

At 1.43am on Saturday, July 25, police were called to Alchemy in High Street, Runcorn, following reports of an altercation.

On arrival paramedics were treating the 21-year-old man who was taken to hospital.

DC John Ellis said: “We’re still piecing together events from that night and are appealing to anyone who saw the incident to contact police.

"During the incident the victim’s mobile phone also went missing. If anyone found a Huawei P6 in the pub or High Street, please make contact with police.”

As part of enquiries into the assault a 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a section 18 assault.
