THE Countess of Chester Hospital Trust recorded one of the six coronavirus deaths reported by hospital trusts across England today, according to the latest data.

NHS England figures released this afternoon (July 20) shows that the trust – which covers both the Chester and Ellesmere Port sites – has now registered a total of 227 deaths.

The patient sadly died on July 18.

Across England, a further six people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 29,187.

Patients were aged between 74 and 98 years-old, and all had known underlying health conditions.

The five trusts who recorded deaths in the latest 24-hour reporting period were Buckinghamshire (2), Northamptonshire, Rotherham, Countess of Chester and East Kent.

Today, one death is reported with no positive Covid-19 test result.
