NO additional deaths of patients testing positive for coronavirus were reported by any of the four hospital trusts in Cheshire over the weekend.

The latest NHS England data shows that, as of 5pm on July 18, the total number of deaths registered by the Countess of Chester Hospital Trust remained at 226.

The Cheshire hospital death toll still stands at 719 with Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust recording 213, East Cheshire NHS Trust 144, and Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust 136.

Yesterday was the fourth day in a row that no further deaths were reported by any of the four hospital trusts in the county.

As of 3.58pm yesterday, the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Cheshire West and Chester stood at 2,001 – a rise of 12 cases since Thursday.

Across England, the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals stands at 29,181.
