I WAS born in the Gleny (Glany) Morta Maternity Home in Connah’s Quay in 1945.

I have been trying for many years to discover where this home was situated.

I have tried Flintshire Archives and the local health authority, both of which have drawn a blank.

Using old maps from that era have not helped. The only ‘hospital’ I have found was the isolation hospital inland of Connah’s Quay.

I am 75 this month and I’m sure there must be lots of people in the area also born at this maternity home round about this time, hopefully still with us, who could shed some light on this.

My father at the time was in the RAF and I believe my parents were staying with a Gwen and Griff of Coed Y onn? Farm in the area.

My mother unfortunately died two years after my birth but my father stayed in contact with this couple for many years.

Great to hear from anyone who might be able to help.
