THE Countess of Chester Hospital Trust has not reported any additional coronavirus deaths for the third day running, according to the latest NHS England data.
Figures released this afternoon (June 30) show that, as of 5pm yesterday, the total number of deaths registered by the trust – which covers both the Chester and Ellesmere Port hospital sites – remained at 209.
East Cheshire was the only trust in the county to record additional deaths of patients testing positive for the virus in the latest 24-hour reporting period.
The Cheshire hospital death toll now stands at 687 with the Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (210) registering the most, followed by the Countess of Chester Hospital Trust (209), East Cheshire NHS Trust (137) – a rise of two – and Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (131).
Warrington and Halton hasn't had any coronavirus deaths since June 20.
As of 4pm yesterday, Cheshire West and Chester has had 1,245 confirmed cases of coronavirus – a rise of two in 24 hours.
Across England, a further 37 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 28,709.
Patients were aged between 48 and 94 years-old. One patient, aged 80, had no known underlying health conditions.
Today, six deaths are reported with no positive Covid-19 test result.
