A MOTORIST escaped with only minor injuries after their car overturned on a country lane near Willaston.
Police said the incident happened on Damhead Lane yesterday evening (June 29) and resulted in the road being closed for a lengthy period.
The car landed on its roof and was badly damaged.
Cheshire Constabulary's Willaston and Thornton & Netherpool Police social media accounts posted: "Damhead Lane closed due to collision and car on its roof. Occupants okay. Car not okay. Take your time and drive safely."
In a further post a few hours later, the force said: "Damhead Lane is now open and the vehicle involved in the accident has been removed.
"Luckily the driver got out of the car with only minor injuries. Thanks for your patience whilst the road was closed."
