A COUNTY councillor has eased confusion which has arisen over the proposed name for a town's new two-member electoral ward.
The Boundary Commission published its report on June 16 on the final recommendations to reduce the number of Flintshire's county councillors from 70 to 65.
And the report states that changes would include the Saltney and Saltney Ferry wards of Saltney Stonebridge and Saltney Mold Junction combining to form one one ward named 'Saltney Ferry'.
But local councillors and residents quickly complained that the name Saltney Ferry was not inclusive of both the Saltney and Saltney Ferry communities.
And this name will indeed be changed, a Saltney county councillor has said.
Cllr Richard Lloyd, of the Mold Junction ward, says this an error and will be corrected.
He said: "I've had verbal confirmation that the new ward will be named 'Saltney and Saltney Ferry', as opposed to 'Saltney Ferry' as per the report.
"We were keen to see Saltney Ferry included in the name ward name as to recognise the area and its residents, but it appears the Boundary Commission has simply made an error in the report, which I've been assured will be corrected."
