NO additional coronavirus deaths have been reported by the Countess of Chester Hospital Trust for the second day running, according to latest figures.

NHS England data released this afternoon (June 22) shows that, as of 5pm yesterday, the total number of deaths registered by the trust – which covers both the Chester and Ellesmere Port hospital sites – remained at 195.

Mid Cheshire and Warrington and Halton both recorded additional deaths of patients testing positive for the virus in the latest 24-hour reporting period.

The county hospital death toll now stands at 661, with the Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (204) recording the most, followed by the Countess trust, Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (131) and East Cheshire NHS Trust (131).

Across England, a further 20 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 28,338.

Patients were aged between 55 and 98 years-old. All patients had underlying health conditions.

Today, zero deaths are reported with no positive Covid-19 test result.
