THIEVES who tried to steal an electric cable from a Saltney Ferry substation caused an explosion, police have said.
North Wales Police's Community Safety East team said the incident occurred at a substation on Saltney Ferry Road last Thursday at about 10pm.
The team said the attempted theft "caused an explosion, blew the power and probably injured the thief".
It has warned other would be thieves that this type of theft is "very dangerous".
