A GRESFORD schoolgirl has created art for other walkers in her area to enjoy.

Ophelia Roach, 10, was tasked by her teachers at All Saints School to find materials that interested her on her daily walk and to make something creative with them.

Suggestions included making pictures of animals or people out of leaves, twigs, stones, feathers and other natural materials - with pupils recommended to research the works of artist Andy Goldsworthy for inspiration.

Ophelia's mum Allison told the Leader: "She looked at Andy Goldsworthy's work and we went for a walk in Maes y Pant in Gresford.

"Ophelia gathered a lot of things and she decided she wanted to make something with circles and spirals. "She wanted to do it somewhere where other people could see it and enjoy it, rather than in the garden. "We had quite a few people walking past and looking while she made it in Maes Y Pant and they were asking all about it.

"She's very pleased with how it came together - she's very creative.

"The Maes y Pant Facebook page shared photos of it as well."
