ARLEY Hall has reopened its garden areas to the public with immediate effect.

The gardens closed towards the end of March as the country went into lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

But after the Government relaxed restrictions and after a safety review, visitors are now free to enjoy the gardens once more.

An Arley Hall and Gardens spokesperson said: “We are delighted to be able to safely open our gardens with immediate effect.

“Over the past nine weeks, the gardens have been maintained by just two of our gardening team - Gordon and James.

“They have worked tremendously hard, coming in seven days a week to keep everywhere looking beautiful.

“Opening of the gardens will of course be under the required government guidelines, so we make no apologies for a few logistical changes whilst on site.

“We ask that during your visit, you adhere to social distancing and keep at least two metres away from other visitors.”

The Gardener’s Kitchen café will be offering a takeout menu of drinks, sandwiches and cakes for visitors to enjoy within outdoor seating areas.

A picnic area is also available for those wishing to bring their own food, as long as any rubbish is cleared away before leaving.

The children’s play area remains closed in line with government guidelines, but toilet facilities will be open.

These will be regularly checked and cleaned, particularly high touch areas such as door handles and surfaces.

The spokesperson added: “We are immensely grateful for your much-needed support in keeping Arley Hall and Gardens open at the current time.

“We are delighted to have you back.”

The gardens are open daily from 10am through to 5pm.

Adult entry is £9.00, children aged between four and 16 can enter for £4 and car parking is £2.

Season ticket holders are entitled to free entry.
