A FIRE involving a hedgerow near Chester is believed to have been started by decomposing horse manure.
At about 8.10am today (Thursday, May 28) firefighters were informed of the fire in Picton Gorse Lane, Picton, near Chester.
On arrival the crew discovered that the fire involved around 30 metres of hedgerow.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet and were in attendance for more than 20 minutes.
"The fire is believed to have been caused by decomposing horse manure."
