COSTA Coffee based at the Deva Retail Centre in Chester has reopened today (May 21).

The store will be providing a drive-through only service for customers.

Its the first Costa Coffee branch in Chester and Ellesmere Port to reopen after temporarily closing due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The popular coffee shop chain confirmed today that all of its stores' drive-through lanes will reopen over the next two weeks.

Some branches have also opened up for takeaway orders only, including a store just over the border at Broughton Shopping Park.

On the Costa Coffee website, it states that for those customers visiting a takeaway store, they will look and feel quite different.

These changes include limiting the number of customers in the store, floor signage to support social distancing, the availability of hand sanitisers and a Perspex screen fitted at the counter.

The new guides state that, to maintain a contactless service, chains will only accept contactless payment and will not be able to accept physical Coffee Club cards. Customers can still collect and redeem loyalty points using the Costa app.

Costa will also not be accepting any reusable cups for the time being.
