FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a fire at a flat near Ellesmere Port.
Shortly after 5pm yesterday (Wednesday, May 20) two fire crews responded to a report of a smoke alarm sounding at a block of flats at The Boulevard in Great Sutton.
On arrival crews discovered that a fire in the kitchen of one of the flats had activated the alarm.
The fire was out on arrival and no-one was unaccounted for.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus made the flat safe. One of them had a hose reel.
The firefighters used a large fan to clear the flat of smoke.
Once they were satisfied that the flat was safe they left the scene.
Firefighters were in attendance for about 45 minutes.
