A 22-YEAR-OLD male has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead in a house in Ellesmere Port.
Cheshire Constabulary has confirmed that officers attended a property at Blakemere Court at around 3.15am today (May 2) after concerns were raised for the welfare of a man.
Inside the property they discovered the body of a man. Formal identification has not yet taken place.
The death is being treated as suspicious and a 22-year-old man from Ellesmere Port has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
He is currently in custody being questioned by officers.
Detective Inspector Nigel Reid, of Cheshire Constabulary’s Major Investigation Team, said: "I would like to reassure members of the community that this appears to be an isolated incident and we are doing everything we can to establish exactly what has taken place.
"We are at the very early stages of our investigation.
"Enquiries are ongoing and I urge anyone with any information that may help our investigation to get in touch.

"A scene is currently in place at the address and officers are in attendance to provide reassurance.
