CHILDREN at Lache Primary School have shown their appreciation for the tireless efforts of our keyworkers during the coronavirus crisis by making heartwarming cards and letters.

Pupils also took great pride in creating a huge banner for the nearby Curzon House care home residents with the words: "We are thinking of you, keep safe".

Teacher Jan Sproston said: "The pupils at Lache Primary School have been thinking about all the key workers who are working so hard during these difficult times.

"We had a production line of thank you letters and cards made during the week. Some of the children asked their parents to take the letters and cards into work to share with their key worker colleagues.

"Children also took home letters to put out for the local rubbish collection workers on Thursday. Making the cards and letters has been a very positive experience for the children.

"Our school has a very family orientated ethos and the children take great satisfaction and pride in helping others. On Friday the children made cards for the residents of the local care home and little gift bags containing hand cream for the staff that are working tirelessly to keep the residents safe.

"One of the year six pupils decided that a huge banner would keep up staff and residents moral. She came up with the phrase ‘We are thinking of you, keep safe’.

"The gifts, banner and cards were dropped off at Curzon House in Saltney after school by headteacher Mrs Seager and Mrs Jones where they were gratefully received by a member of staff. It was very touching to see how surprised staff were to receive the gifts."
