A SIX-YEAR-OLD from Ellesmere Port has been helping deliver essential food and drink to residents unable to go out during the coronavirus lockdown.
Young Cal Graham would normally be playing football up to three or four times a week, but ever since the lockdown came in, he wanted to put his efforts into something positive.
With the help of dad Gary Graham, Cal has, for the past month, been helping get fruit, veg, eggs, milk and other essentials to those in the Groves area of Ellesmere Port (sometimes further afield) who can't get out, are self isolating, vulnerable or whose family are also self isolating.
Dad Gary explained: "We're raising funds via local businesses and those living locally to enable us to buy fresh fruit and veg which in turn Cal organises into deliveries to go to those who need it.
"We're lucky enough to have the support of local retailers who have been able to pass us surplus stock which we have given out to the community.
"Our group page, The Groves Support Group, has helped bring everyone together and is being used as a focal point for the community."
So far, The Groves Support Group on Facebook has raised more than £1,700 to help more than 80 families in need, some of them several times.
