A SIX-YEAR-OLD Chester girl's singing performance has lifted the spirits of thousands of viewers.

Summer-Joules Saunders asked her mum Joanne what she could do to help people struggling to deal with the social isolation imposed as part of the coronavirus pandemix.

Due to social distances measures, Summer-Joules embarked on an online singing tutorial with Majestic Academy in the hope to put a smile on the elderly and vulnerable at this time.

Despite having only just six lessons in the past two weeks, Summer-Joules then learnt an old classic from the hit musical Les Misérables, Castle on a Cloud.

Mum ordered a costume from Ebay, put some make-up on her face and recorded Summer-Joules singing.

Within 24 hours, Summer-Joules has had more than 4,500 views on YouTube.

With Summer-Joules already having a love for acting as a child actress, this was an exciting opportunity for her to act out a song from the hit musical Les Misérables.

Summer-Joules said: “I wanted to do this for all the people who are at home and can’t go out and those who have the virus to make them happy, as it makes me happy singing.”

Some of the comments on the YouTube video read: "Oh my goodness, that was fantastic, really uplifting at a time were the nation is struggling and for 6 lessons. Well done!"

"Super Star.. well-done young lady.. Be proud you're awesome"

"O summer joules you have just made me smile so much, I have very fond memories of myself and my mum singing this, Les Mis was one of are favourite, we'd always do a play in the summer, so thank you for reminding me of the fun times I had with my mum xxx"
