STAFF at a Flintshire high school have collaborated to create a fundraising video to lift their and their students' spirits amid lockdown.

The video, by staff at St David's High School in Saltney, is titled 'You've got to stay in', and is to tune on Queen's class 'I want to break free'.

It features singing from Religious Studies teacher Laura Hainsworth and Maths teacher Bethan Edge, and involves showcasing how staff members are spending lockdown.

It sees staff taking on 'loo role challenge' - football keep-ups using toilet role, shaving off their hair and even features a cameo from the school's headteacher, Steve Richardson, in a childs' play house - all while reinforcing the message of how important it is that students and their families stay home amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The school is also using the video to raise money for Swansea Bay University Health Board's 'Support NHS Wales' charitable fund, and other related charities.

Mr Richardson said: "Whilst we at St David’s High School have had a great deal of fun in making this video, and have hopefully achieved our initial objective of cheering up students and their parents and conveying a very important message, we really want to support the NHS as they battle through the very serious Covid-19 crisis.

"The dedication of NHS staff is unwavering and their strength is astonishing. We simply want to try and give a little back.

"Any donation you are able to give will be gratefully received and will undoubtedly help at this difficult time."
