AS the country continues the fight against Coronavirus, today the Globe is proud to launch a fund-raising appeal in conjunction with Wirral University Teaching Hospital (WUTH).

The WUTH Covid-19 Support Fund has been created to allow Globe readers and the wider public to help Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge hospitals by raising money that can be quickly redistributed into the effort to tackle the pandemic here in Wirral.

Chief Executive Officer for Wirral University Teaching Hospital Janelle Holmes said: “We are a family hospital and the care we have been shown from our community at this time has been amazing. We are hugely grateful for all the kind donations and messages we have already received. Thank you, they mean so much to us all.

“This fund will allow us to further support patients, staff and our hospitals during and after this pandemic has ended.”

All funds raised through this appeal in response to Covid-19 will be spent on enhancing the well-being of NHS Staff, volunteers, patients at Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge General Hospital.

No target has been set on the appeal, but as people look for different ways in which to help, this is an ideal opportunity for Globe readers to make a difference without leaving their homes.

Crucially, all money raised through the fund is kept separate from other fund-raising activities, so people can be sure that any donations that they make are going directly to the source of the Coronavirus battle.

You can donate directly to the fund online via the official WUTH charity appeal page: www.justgiving.com/campaign/WUTHCovid-19appeal

Alternatively you can send a cheque payable to WUTH Charity, to the Charity Office, Arrowe Park Hospital, Upton Road, Wirral CH49 5PE
