FOUR more people in Cheshire who tested positive for coronavirus have died, according to the latest NHS England figures released this afternoon (April 6).

Both Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have each recorded two deaths over a 24-hour period up to 5pm yesterday.

The number of hospital patients in Cheshire who have died from coronavirus now stands at 63 – of which 15 have been recorded by the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

A total of 21 deaths have been recorded by Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, 16 by Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. and 11 by East Cheshire NHS Trust.

Latest figures also reveal that the number of confirmed cases in Cheshire has risen from 535 to 629 as of 9am today.

Cheshire West and Chester has the most cases with 200, followed by Cheshire East with 196, Warrington with 138 and Halton with 95.

In England, a further 403 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths to 4,897.

Patients were aged between 35 and 106 years-old. Fifteen of the 403 patients – who were aged between 52 and 94 years-old – had no known underlying health condition.
