POLICE are urging residents to be aware following suspicious activity in Elton.
Officers received a report shortly after 4pm on Wednesday, April 1 of a man knocking at an address in Dairy Bank.
The resident opened the door and the man was asking to retrieve an injured pigeon from the rear garden.
There were three men in total who arrived at the property, with the two others remaining in the van.
In the past, similar tactics have been used in distraction burglaries.
Police advise residents if they hear anything similar to not let anyone in your property, and be aware.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police on the non-emergency number 101, citing incident reference number IML 672769. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
