A TOTAL of 27 people who tested positive for coronavirus across Cheshire have sadly died – including seven at the Countess of Chester Hospital.

The latest NHS England figures show that there have been seven deaths confirmed by the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The most deaths in the county have occurred at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust where 12 have been confirmed, while East Cheshire NHS Trust and Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have each had four deaths.

The latest Public Health England statistics shows there have been a total of 305 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Cheshire.

The most have been in Cheshire East who have had a total of 102 cases with Cheshire West and Chester narrowly behind on 97, followed by Warrington with 65 and Halton with 41.
