AN URGENT appeal for personal protective equipment (PPE) in Wrexham has been made amid the coronavirus crisis.

The appeal, titled 'Operation Hidden PPE', is calling on anyone who has worked in an industry where the use of PPE was required, specifically those industries which have ceased trading and manufacturing temporarily, to donate the equipment.

It will then be gathered and sent to the health care sector - which is in desperate need of more of it as the crisis worsens.

The scheme has been launched in cojuncture with Wrexham County Borough Council and local voluntary sectors.

They are appealing for FFP2 and FFP3 disposable masks, disposable gloves, face shields, tight fitting goggles, disposable aprons and fluid repellent surgical masks.

These items can be dropped off at the loading bay at PHS Supplies (Jaeger House, 141 Holt Road, Wrexham, LL13 9DY) between 9am and 11am, Monday to Friday.

For collection if you're unable to drop items off, call 07753863673 or 07487833795.

When dropping items off, comply with all Government guidelines around social distancing. This is classed as essential travel under medical needs.
