MERSEYRAIL have made "further significant changes" to their Chester and Ellesmere Port services as they continue to respond to the affects of the coronavirus crisis.
Yesterday, the operator announced that from today (April 2), trains will only operate between 7am-7pm, Monday to Saturday.
However, Merseyrail has since confirmed that "additional limited" services have been added to help people who need to travel between 7pm and 10pm.
Services will run from 8am-7pm on Sundays.
Merseyrail said: "Due to the national emergency measures and increasing numbers of station, depot and onboard staff self-isolating caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be further significant changes to Merseyrail services from Thursday 2 April 2020.
"There are likely to be further amendments to our timetable over the coming weeks, and we would encourage all customers to check before you travel."
In a tweet the operator added: "Following passenger feedback, our planning team has worked hard to make small adjustments to the reduced timetable.
"From tomorrow (April 2) there will be an additional limited service on some lines between 19:00 and 22:00 Mon-Sat."
