THE number of newly confirmed coronavirus cases in Cheshire has risen by more than 20 in a day, according to the latest Public Health England data.
The data from Sunday, March 29, show there have been a total of 125 confirmed cases across the Cheshire area - 54 cases in Cheshire East, 34 in Cheshire West and Chester, 21 in Warrington and 16 in Halton.
This is an increase of 21 cases from yesterday, March 28.
The latest figures from public health officials show, as of 9am on March 29, there has been 19,522 confirmed cases, with 1,228 people losing their lives after testing positive for the coronavirus across the country.
However, the health body says that there could many more people with the virus, self-isolating at home.
