FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle a fire out in the open in Ellesmere Port in the early hours of this morning.

One fire engine attended from Ellesmere Port at Sutton Way, Great Sutton, shortly after 1am.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "On arrival the crew found a small quantity of rubbish on fire.

"Firefighters used a hose reel jet to put out the fire and were in attendance for around 10 minutes."
