A MAN on a quad bike was arrested for verbally abusing a police officer in Ellesmere Port.
Jake Mayers, 27, of Sutton Way, Ellesmere Port, has since been charged with a public order offence following the incident yesterday afternoon.
He is due to appear at Chester Magistrates Court next month.
A statement from Cheshire Constabulary said: "A 27-year-old man from Ellesmere Port has been charged following a public order offence in the town.
"At around 11.40am on Tuesday 24 March an officer was verbally assaulted by a man on a quad bike on Sutton Way.
"Jake Mayers, of Sutton Way, was arrested and subsequently charged with a public order offence.
"He is scheduled to appear at Chester Magistrates Court on Friday 17 April."
