A MAN in his 60s is the fifth person in Cheshire to die from coronavirus.
The patient, who had underlying health conditions, died at Leighton Hospital in Crewe.
A total of four patients have now died at the hospital, while a fifth person died at the Countess of Chester Hospital.
Speaking yesterday, Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Chief Executive James Sumner said : "Sadly, we can confirm that we have had a total of four patients being cared for at Leighton Hospital who have tested positive for COVID-19 and died.
"The fourth patient was in his 60s and had underlying health conditions.
"His family has been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time."
