THE popular Chester Live summer music event has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Organisers have confirmed that the city's multi-venue event, scheduled to take place from June 18-21, will now be held in November.

They say exact dates for the rescheduled four-day music celebration will be announced as soon as possible.

In a statement, organisers said: "We are now living in unprecedented times where the leisure and hospitality industry has now gone into lockdown, venues have closed and festivals all over the world have been postponed or cancelled.

"The ongoing Covid-19 crisis bracing the world has meant the Chester Live Committee has now decided we need to focus on our social responsibility and the health & safety of our team and volunteers, our performers and the wider community to which our event takes place.

"Therefore, it’s with heavy hearts that we are now announcing the postponement of Chester Live 2020 until November 2020. Actual dates will be confirmed asap.

"All tickets purchased for our individual events will be valid for the rescheduled events.

"As they say, 'Good things come to those who wait'. We promise it will be worth the wait."
