A LARGE amount of oil was spilt onto a section of the M56 after a crash between a lorry and a van.
Firefighters created a cordon at the scene of the collision eastbound, between junction 11 and 10, and used environmental packs to stem the leak.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said no one was trapped inside the vehicles after the crash at about 5.35pm yesterday.
Two fire engines attended - one from Stockton Heath and one from Runcorn.
