THE Live Rooms in Chester will be closed until at least May as it becomes the latest city venue to shut over the coronavirus pandemic.

The Station Road music venue made the announcement last night (March 18) and said it has tried its best to reschedule events where possible.

In a statement, The Live Rooms said: "Due to the ongoing public health situation and in line with the recent government advice, we have made the difficult decision to close The Live Rooms until May, at the earliest, with immediate effect.

"We have endeavoured to reschedule events where we have been able, and all tickets for these events will remain valid for the rearranged dates.

"Refunds will also be available from the point of purchase for those who aren’t able to make the new dates or should any show have to be cancelled. Please help us out where you can by keeping hold of your tickets.

"We will continue to keep working on rescheduling postponed dates and will keep you all up to date when we have news.

"As well, all updates will be posted on our website and across our social media. For updates regarding individual shows, please mark yourself as 'Attending' or 'Interested’ on our Facebook event pages to receive specific notifications.

"We really appreciate your support and understanding in these difficult times. We hope to see you at many more great shows as soon as it is safe to do so."
