A HIGH school in Chester is providing all of its students with free breakfast, snack and lunch in an effort to help families during the coronavirus pandemic.
Blacon High School has confirmed that the offer will come into effect from today (March 18) and run until Easter.
Headteacher Rachel Hudson says that due to Government measures limiting movement and access to jobs as a result of the ongoing crisis, she hopes the move will provide much-needed support for families.
She said: "From Wednesday (March 18) until Easter, we will be offering all students a free breakfast between 8am-8.45am, foods at break time (11am-11.15am) will also be free and all students’ lunches will also be free of charge. Free milk or water will be available with the meal deals.
"We have taken this decision in light of recent moves from the Government to limit movement and access to some jobs and hope that this will support our families at this difficult time."
The school also reiterated that it will remain open as usual until it receives notification from the Government.
