POST Office services are returning to Willaston this month.

Villagers have been without the services since the closure of Willaston Post Office back in August last year.

But following discussions between members of Willaston Residents’ and Countryside Society (WR&CS) and Post Office Ltd, a temporary arrangement has been struck.

It is hoped the village will have a permanent Post Office service at some stage in the future.

A WR&CS statement said: "WR&CS has worked closely with the Post Office over the last few months and we are pleased that an outreach Post Office will start in the Memorial Hall from Tuesday 24th March.

"This will offer a wide range of Post Office services, as well as banking services including cash withdrawal and balance enquiries for all UK banks.

"The service will be available on Tuesdays from 1pm to 3pm and Thursdays from 10am to 12 noon.

"This is a temporary arrangement, pending an interested party submitting a licence application for a permanent Post Office provision. This may still take several months to progress.

"WR&CS would like to thank the Post Office and the Memorial Hall for making this possible and hopes that residents find this a useful service."
