EIGHT discounted homes for local people are being provided at a new housing development in Tarporley.

The two-bedroom mews-style homes are available at Jones Homes’ Chestnut Grange development, for 70 per cent of their open market value.

As part of the planning agreement for the development with Cheshire West and Chester Council, the homes can be purchased by people who need housing and who meet the qualifying criteria set by the council.

The criteria include having a household income of less than £80,000 and living or working locally or having a strong local connection.

One of the eight homes has already been reserved and the remaining plots are in high demand.

Gemma Pownall, sales director at Jones Homes North West, said: “Chestnut Grange has been a popular development from the beginning, and we are excited to release these eight homes to help those who meet the qualifying criteria take their first steps onto the property ladder.

“The first discounted home at the site has already been reserved and we are urging all those interested in taking advantage of this discount scheme to contact the sales centre now to find out more about this fantastic opportunity.”

Each of the discounted homes at Chestnut Grange feature a living room to the front and kitchen/dining room with French doors to the garden, plus a downstairs guest cloakroom, with two double bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, and allocated parking for two cars. The discounted prices start from £213,500, based on an open market value of £305,000.
