CUSTOMERS will be offered a free ice cream at a Chester cafe on Thursday to mark its first birthday.

Each customer at the Snugburys cafe, at The Groves by the River Dee, will get a free cone from 10am to 5pm.

Snugburys is a long standing family business based in Nantwich, Cheshire, where they have been making artisan ice cream for more than 30 years and specialise in their own handcrafted ingredients that go into their dairy ice cream.

The cafe opened its doors on February 20, 2019 and since then has become a firm favourite with locals and visitors.

Kitty Hill, one of three Snugburys Sisters who run the cafe, said: “We so enjoy being part of the Chester community and we wanted to thank everyone who has supported us over the last year by giving out a free ice cream on February 20.

"We had such a successful first year in the café, serving around 150,000 Snugburys customers. We are really looking forward to what 2020 will bring!"

Each customer will receive a free ice cream cone with their favourite flavour.
