A COUPLE from Little Neston are preparing to celebrate a remarkable 70 years of marriage this month.
Alfred Bailey and Joyce Yvonne Bailey were married on February 25, 1950, meaning this year marks their platinum wedding anniversary.
They met when Alfred, known as Alf, was working at Neston brickyard. Alf and the other drivers had a bet to see who get the first date with the boss's daughter.
Alf won the bet and a date with Joyce.
They have two daughters – Joyce and Diane – as well as granddaughters Helen and Jennifer and two great granddaughters, Ahnya and Aurora.
