AN inaugural meet-up event on the outskirts of Chester in aid of rescued pugs provided paws for thought.
Pawsome Paddock Dog Park hosted a fundraising event for Muffinpug Rescue on Saturday, January 25 by arranging a pug meet-up and a raffle at its dog-friendly venue in Whitby Lane, Backford.
The event was a chance for pugs to meet in a secure enclosed paddock, have a run around and socialise.
A total of 18 pugs made the most of the opportunity as they had a lot of fun on the agility equipment at the dog park, while a total of £145 was raised for Muffinpug Rescue on the day.
The meet-up proved such as success that a second event is planned for Saturday, February 29.
Muffinpug Rescue was founded after a little black pug was rescued from a dog fighting ring after being used as bait.
It was advised she be put to sleep but a nice lady took care of her and she survived her injuries with only losing a leg, she was named Muffin and hundreds of pugs have been rescued in her name.
There are rescues currently coming in from China and Europe so the funds raised have a direct impact.
