FINAL preparations are underway as a Chester and Wrexham based theatre company gets set to open its 2020 season of plays.

Tip Top Productions will be staging an adaptation of one of Emily Bronte's most popular works as well as a half-term treat involving 3 Piggy friends The Forum Studio Theatre in Chester.

The new season opens with Wuthering Heights, adapted for the stage by Jane Thornton and directed for Tip Top by Laura Coard. The show, based on the classic novel runs from Wednesday, January 29, to Saturday, February 1, at 7.30pm with a matinee performance at 2.30pm on Saturday, February 1.

Director Laura Coard said: "The classic saga of two Yorkshire families in the remote Pennine Hills, and the doomed relationship of Heathcliff and Cathy Earnshaw is brilliantly brought to life in Jane Thornton’s new stage adaptation which we hope fans of Emily Bronte will really enjoy, We are really looking forward to bringing the well known characters of the book to life on stage in what will be Tip Top’s first in house production of 2020”.

Chester and District Standard:

No Tip Top season would be complete without a classic children's tale for the February half-term holidays, and this year sees a brand new re-telling of the children's classic "3 Little Pigs", written and directed by Phil Cross who created the sell out productions of The Witches in 2018 and The Twits in 2019.

3 Little Pigs tells the story of the 3 piggy friends as they discover what it takes to out-wit the wicked wolf and learn the value of being different and playing to your strengths.

The show, which is recommended for ages five up to young teenagers and their families, runs from February 17 to 22. With tickets already on sale, producers are recommending booking early to avoid disappointment.
