CHEFS at a restaurant in Llangollen were recently put through their paces by little boy as part of the development of their new children’s menu.

Ali Jones, aged five, dubbed online by the venue as ‘the REAL Head Chef’ took time out of his busy after-school schedule to give his advice to chefs at The Three Eagles on what children would most want to see in the new menu.

The young food-lover was called on by executive head chef, Adam Gaunt-Evans to help ensure that this was the best children’s menu yet.

Adam said: “The team and I have really had our work cut out with Ali around. He is really been quite demanding with what he wanted to see on the menu and we took it all on board and came up with some new dishes that he and his friends really approved of.”

Under Ali’s watchful eye, the menu now features an improved range of Little and Big Bites, mini Sunday roasts and a new selection of winter warming puddings – all created with the freshest local ingredients to hand.

The Year 1 pupil donned his chef whites and offered his expert insight throughout a week of development alongside the kitchen team at the Bridge Street establishment.

Another of Ali’s great loves is sport and this is also reflected in the design of the menu itself with the obliging in-house design team cleverly creating word searches, letter jumbles and new colouring design on the reverse to help keep young children occupied whilst waiting for their food to be served.

Adam added: “We pride ourselves on being a place for every occasion – whether that be a special birthday, baby shower or a quick bite to eat for families after school. Ali’s suggestions have been indispensable to us and we cannot wait to hear feedback from his fellow classmates and the rest of our mini-diners in the weeks to come.”

The Children’s Menu will be available as of today (Tuesday, January 21) and for a limited time, children will receive a free meal when accompanied by an adult dining from The Three Eagles main menu.

This offer is only available Monday to Friday between 12pm and 7pm. For further information and to book, call 01978 869595.
