A DEESIDE resident says persistent anti-social behaviour in the area is making him think of moving away.

The Garden City resident, wishing to remain anonymous, says youths have been banging on his front door and windows late at night before hurling abuse at him and his family.

The man, who lives with his wife and two children, says it has happened three to four times in as many weeks.

But he says this issue has persisted on and off for “well over a year” - and is only getting worse.

“I understand the police are short-handed and very busy, and after a meeting with police at home we’ve been assured they’re working with the local housing authorities to see about getting the people involved warned with evictions,” he said.

“I would like to think they will actually act upon things like this rather than using it as an idle warning.

“Anti-social Behaviour Orders should be given to persistent offenders whether they’re young or old, I think they’re old enough to know what they’re doing so they’re old enough to face the consequences of their actions.”

And the man says the thought has crossed his mind about moving away from the area - such has been the prevalence of anti-social behaviour.

“It just seems to be getting worse and less action is taken against them,” he added.

“If it does persist then maybe leaving the area wouldn’t be such a bad idea.”

Flintshire North inspector Gareth Cust said: “I have been made aware of anonymous information submitted to the Leader regarding a resident who is experiencing incidents of Anti-Social behaviour.

“As with any reports we need quality information from residents in order that we are then able to address their concerns.

“Any reports from residents will be dealt with by ourselves and partners.

“Year to date crime and anti-social behaviour has reduced in the Garden City area and we welcome any information to continue this good work.

“We urge anyone with information regarding anti-social behaviour to contact us at the time so we can address.”
